Knoxville, Tennessee - October 29, 2008 - This afternoon Peter Getz, a worker at Safari's Sanctuary in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was attacked by Rocky, a liger. Mr. Getz was reportedly feeding the animal inside of it's enclosure when the incident occurred.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Getz, his family, and the staff of Safari's Sanctuary," said Dan Stockdale, conservationist and exotic animal trainer. "I wish him well for a speedy recovery. If the initial reports are correct that he was in the enclosure with the animal then there must have been someone close by who was able to quickly rescue him. That person should be commended for their efforts. Obviously the USDA will be conducting an investigation in addition to the facilities internal investigation. Of concern is the initial report that the handler was in the enclosure with the animal while feeding him. If indeed this is the case, it would certainly be in conflict with the operating policies and procedures for most facilities," said Stockdale.

Dan Stockdale is a conservationist and exotic animal trainer who performs with live tigers on stage during his motivational speeches. He has served as expert commentator for Fox News Hannity & Colmes, Fox News Live, The Big Story, New York Times, CNN Headline News Nancy Grace Show, Boston Globe, and many more. He is the author of "Taming Tigers" and performs regularly at theme parks, and large corporate conventions.
